Hours of Service
They apply to drivers and motor carriers who are operating commercial motor vehicles and:
Are engaged in interstate commerce and are therefore subject to the FMCSA’S or
Are engaged in intrastate commerce – conducted entirely with a single state; and that state has adopted and enforces the new HOS regulations.

Shipping Papers & Emergency Response – 49 CFR Parts §173, §178, §180
When transporting hazardous materials within the United States we must follow the rules of Subchapter C of the Hazardous Materials Regulations. When a material is listed in the hazardous materials table of the HMR, specific steps must be taken to identify that material in order to place it in the transportation system unless the regulation provides otherwise.
